At the Nonhuman Rights Project, every member of our team chose to work for this organization because the NhRP’s mission and goals–securing legal rights for nonhuman animals–align with our own personal values and goals. The work is a part of who we are. We’re a purpose-driven team, and we’re a resilient team. We have to be.
Our commitment to this cause comes from deep inside ourselves–from a fundamental understanding of what’s just and moral. This intrinsic belief in the rightness of our mission is the fuel that keeps us going even in the face of substantial obstacles and fear-mongering from zoos, trade groups, and other wealthy, powerful institutions that want to prevent the change we seek to make.
Your support for our work also powers us. NhRP supporters live their lives the same way we do–with the kind of intention and commitment we believe will lead to a more just world. A world where nonhuman animals are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
In 2024, we grew the NhRP team, and we grew our movement. We expect this movement will continue to grow as more people learn about how like us other animals are and how interconnected we are. We end this year knowing that change for the better is not only possible, it’s well underway.
