Hi friend - It’s Shawn, Eric’s partner.
I hope that you and your family had a fun and relaxing holiday. As we wrap up 2024, I wanted to send you a note to tell you how much we appreciate all of your support over the past four years.
Watching so many attacks on his passion for meteorology, and resurgent attacks on our ability to freely be ourselves, Eric saw that our hometown (Rockford) didn't need another politician, they needed someone they trust to help guide them to make good decisions, and cut out the toxicity of today’s politics.
One thing you have to understand: Hate has never been a family value of ours. Love always has.
I know Eric’s love for our place in the world and his decades of putting our neighbors well-being first. It’s genuinely appreciated, but even I wasn’t prepared for just how impassioned the outpouring of support that we received, coming from people across the country. Folks were tired of feeling made to be small and under-represented. But in Eric, folks see a glimmer of hope.
I want to thank you for the power you have brought to Eric to the campaign. Your energy is what gives us the courage and the strength to keep going, even in the most challenging times.
Now is the time to lead with acceptance, tolerance, and love.
Which brings me to my least favorite part of this email. Eric is facing his first end-of-quarter deadline since the election, and if you are able we would sincerely appreciate $3 or more to help us meet our goal, and show everyone that we can lead with compassion and freedoms for everyone. Your support, no matter the size, matters.
