John,
Too often, candidates are millionaires who can spend a lot of money on ads and mailers, but don’t actually understand the needs of the communities they serve. Our Rooted in Community Campaign School is geared toward women of color and BIPOC candidates who have the lived experiences needed to represent and uplift working people and families.
Starting the first weekend in February, we’ll train a cohort of 15 candidates to run for office, teaching folks the fundamentals of grassroots campaigning, including communications, field work, fundraising, and more.
But, while we’ve budgeted to train 15 candidates, we received a record number of applicants. Can you help us expand the number of trainees?
Campaign School is completely free to attend, with the program costing $400 per candidate.
Help us expand this year’s Rooted in Community Campaign School to train more working-class candidates. Rush a donation today and help expand the number of candidates we can train this February and March.

Together, we will always organize and fight from outside halls of power. But we also need allies on the inside who will serve our communities with love and never sell us out.
Let’s help shape the future of our communities.

John,
A friend once told me, “People like us never think about running for office and that’s the problem.”
That’s exactly why we created the Rooted in Community Campaign School, an in-person program to train progressive candidates running for local or state office.
Our Campaign School focuses on training women of color and BIPOC candidates with the lived experience needed to serve our communities. This month-long course, which will take place over five Saturdays in February and March, is completely free and will train the leaders of tomorrow, today.
While we budgeted for training 15 candidates, we received a record number of applicants and would love to expand this year’s Campaign School further. The cost per trainee is just $400, which means that every donation, whether it’s $5 or $400, goes a long way toward training future leaders to run for office.
Click here to donate today and power our Rooted in Community Campaign School to train working-class candidates with the lived experience to represent their communities.
We’ll train candidates on the fundamentals of running a grassroots campaign from communications to field work to fundraising, and more―and we’ll ensure that each of these campaign strategies is rooted in community and reflects the needs of each candidate’s district, whether they’re running for local or statewide office.
With a record number of Campaign School applicants, can you donate today to help us expand our Rooted in Community Campaign School beyond 15 trainees?

If this past election taught us anything, it’s that we need more candidates who understand the needs of voters―and too often, everyday people don’t have the knowledge or resources to run for office and represent their communities.
Join us and help shape the future of our communities together,
Rashida Tlaib
