Dear John, We are almost midway through Hanukkah, the lights growing stronger and brighter each night. As we watch the flames grow, I am reminded of a game we used to play with our children, where their dad would quiz them about the Hanukkah story each night before they could open their gifts. As they became teens, they turned the game on its head and started to quiz him back. They taught each other about the story of light and how it overcame the darkness. And as the flames grew each night, I thought about the power my children took for themselves to learn and grow and teach others. | |
