Dear friend in solidarity,
If you’re still considering your giving plans for the end of the year, I hope you’ll consider making a donation to our Strategic Litigation Fund.
Every dollar you give today will be put to good use, protecting and expanding worker rights by changing laws and holding bad actors to account.
With just $1,500, our International Lawyers Assisting Workers (ILAW) Network was able to send an investigative team of worker rights lawyers to conduct interviews with the families of victims, Indigenous communities and survivors of the Brumadinho dam collapse in Brazil, where more than 270 people died.
The testimonies gathered and findings from the investigation were instrumental in driving litigation to hold the multinational corporations that certified the dam as safe accountable.
As a result, the Brazilian company agreed to pay compensation (moral damages) in the amount of $7 billion to the victims' families.
Your donation will go directly to supporting ILAW Network work like this in nearly every region of the world.
