Essential workers are on the front lines of this pandemic, and we need to band together to support each other. Many are working in high-risk conditions without appropriate equipment, safety standards, or job protections. 

The old normal failed essential workers. Protecting them is a key part of emerging from this pandemic better than before.

I'm a Cardiac Critical Care Nurse taking care of the sickest of COVID-19 patients. Emotionally, taking care of these patients without their families present is extremely difficult and depressing. I rely on my co-workers and husband (from a distance). -Camden, NJ

I'm working the same hours, but covering for furloughed coworkers in addition to normal duties. - Denver, CO

We need our lawmakers to pass policies like paid sick leave and workplace health standards to protect against more workers getting sick.
