Friend,
When this pandemic first began, we were all thrown off balance and looking for ways to give back to our communities. Just start typing the word “what” and Google would fill in the rest for you: “What can I do to help?”
Fast forward nearly 10 weeks later -- and this is where it gets hard. Because it’s not new anymore, but we need to keep doing it.
We have one of the best grassroots organizing networks in the state, and we’re in a place to ensure that no one who needs help is left to suffer in silence or isolation. We’re reaching out to ask our vulnerable neighbors if they have the resources they need, if they’re feeling OK, and if there’s anything we can do to help.
Will you sign up to phonebank vulnerable neighbors from your home?
If you’ve never phonebanked before, it’s actually a lot of fun, and there’s no expertise required. You just talk on the phone. This is a great first phonebank, too, because we're not asking any questions about the election or voting. You’ll be saying hello, checking in, and making sure the person on the other end of the line has what they need to stay healthy and secure.
Sound good? Join our amazing grassroots team and hop on the phone with members of your community. You could make a big difference for someone’s situation, whether by uncovering a critical need, or just by being a friendly voice saying “hi” -- in times of loneliness and isolation that can mean so much.
And you get to do it with an amazing group of folks -- here’s who Antonio got to meet with on one of our most recent volunteer chats:
Ready to be a part of this? Sign up here to call and check in on our neighbors.
Hope you can make it,
Danny
