With the return of Donald Trump to the Oval Office, we know we have our work cut out for us. Sierra Club’s role is going to be more important now than ever, in protecting the environmental progress of the past four years and continuing that progress, even with Trump in office. History is calling. And we are ready to answer that call – for the world we live in now, and the one we leave to our children and their children. Because we have been here before, and we arrive at this moment prepared with a plan to keep winning.


During the first Trump administration we filed 300 lawsuits and stopped some of Trump’s worst attacks on bedrock environmental protections. Our 45 attorneys stand ready to bring our fight to court once again.


We retired more coal plants during those four years than we did during either of President Obama’s terms, showing we are strong enough to accelerate progress even under a hostile administration.


Our 64 chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia will resist Trump’s extreme Project 2025 agenda and advance pro-environment policies at the state and local levels. And with our Chapters leading the way, we will continue to grow our movement and build the strategic partnerships necessary for progress.

No other environmental organization is everywhere like the Sierra Club. No other environmental organization is so well positioned to lead in every arena.


Our track record of success gives us a powerful starting playbook, but to offset the coming attacks we will need to do even more than we did during his first term. We need to be ready to fight more legal battles, save more public lands, retire more coal plants, and grow our movement in every corner of the country. And for that, we need your financial support.
