President Biden will soon be leaving the White House after an incredible four years of progress (especially on environmental issues), but he’s not finished just yet!
You’ve probably seen or heard of the monarch butterflies? However, you might not know that these orange and black butterflies are becoming increasingly endangered… but thankfully, the Biden Administration is taking action by introducing new protections for them!
The decline of the monarch butterfly is incredibly sad. You used to be able to see these beautiful butterflies in your backyard… but as of recently, their populations have dwindled by 80% for eastern monarchs and as much as 95% for western monarchs!
Scientists estimate they will go extinct by 2080 if immediate action is not taken, which is why the Biden Administration is stepping up to categorize them as a threatened species and propose new protections for this one-of-a-kind species.
