A Year to Celebrate!
Dear John
It’s the final newsletter of the year and we could not be more excited about some of the plans we have for 2025.
Before we return to your regularly scheduled programming, we want to highlight the Top 5 most effective ways our team has worked to take back California.
CPC On Track to Opt Out California’s 400,000th Government Employee
CPC continued its statewide marketing campaign to help public employees (teachers, administrators and others) leave their unions – putting us on track to opting out of California's 400,000th government employee in early 2025. Every time a government employee stops paying union dues, union leaders have less cash to bankroll the campaigns of politicians who, once in office, return the favor in the form of disastrous policies.
Fiscal Health Dashboard Provides Sustainability Roadmap to Nearly 2,000 Cities, Counties and School Districts in California
CPC published its interactive Local Fiscal Health Dashboard highlighting the fiscal health of every county, city, and school district across California. The dashboard was paired with our newly developed municipal finance triage guide. Check out your own local government agency here.
Investigative Journalism Triggers Congressional Investigation Into Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su
Will Swaim’s investigative series into Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su (featured in National Review, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and in many California newspapers) triggered House and Senate investigations into her loss and “forgiveness” of Covid-era federal unemployment loans to California – and subsequent impact on U.S. and California taxpayers. You can read his latest, published this week on National Review, here.
Annual Parent Union Summit Doubles In Size… Again!
CPC hosted our third Annual Parent Union Summit (our premier education event), welcoming 150 parent group leaders to Sacramento. Group leaders represented 28 California counties as well as groups in Oregon, Nevada, and Iowa. Year over year, the summit has seen 300 percent growth since 2022.
CPC’s Comms Team Averages a Media Hit a Day
The work of CPC’s media team showed up in myriad news hubs this year — with team members regularly showcasing their journalism, reports and op-eds in the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, Fox News, Fox News at Night with Trace Gallagher, CBS News, Daily Mail, The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe, the Daily Caller, Ag Alert, Maven’s Notebook, CalMatters, National Review, Real Clear Politics & Energy, Apartment Management Magazine, and over 30 local newspapers and radio and television programs throughout California.
Honorable Mention: CPC Adds Dozens of First-time Major Donors, Sees Revenue Increase by 40%
CPC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported entirely by the generosity of families, entrepreneurs and philanthropists. This year we’ve seen dozens of new donors step up to expand our programs and launch our new California Justice Center. Led by attorney Julie Hamill, the Justice Center defends individual freedom in state and federal courts.
It’s not too late to join our donor community — and it’s never been easier to support our work. Click here to make your contribution today!
If you’re interested in donating before the end of the year or want assistance making a planned gift, donating stock or crypto currency please contact Jackson Reese, [email protected] - or click “donate” at CaliforniaPolicyCenter.org.
