Dear John,
We are officially in the last stretch of 2024 – and what a year it’s been!
2024 has been a year full of challenges, surprises and the unexpected – but I’m so grateful for my constituents and all the partners we work with make Minnesota a better place to live and do business. And I look forward to strengthening our partnerships in the year to come.
As we come to the end of this year, I wanted to share a few 2024 highlights with you all in my last newsletter of the year!
In 2024, we:
- Unanimously passed my bipartisan LIVE Beneficiaries Act through the House to reduce wasteful government spending
- Secured over $16 million in federal funds for commonsense investments in the Second District, including constructing a new water treatment plant in Northfield, a new public safety training facility in Lakeville and improving recreational trails
- Helped local stakeholders get over $39 million in federal grant funding to strengthen our public safety, improve our infrastructure and make climate-smart investments in our communities
- Introduced the bipartisan Cooper Davis and Devin Norring Act to hold social media companies accountable for fentanyl sales on their platforms
- Attended 141 community events across all five MN-02 counties
- Introduced the Task Force to Stop Price Gouging Act to lower costs and increase consumer transparency
- Resolved 925 constituent cases with the federal government and returned $1,623,249 in federal benefits and refunds to hardworking Minnesotans
- Continued to pressure USPS leadership to take action to improve slow mail delivery and postal worker shortages
- Partnered with local public safety officers to secure more than $13 million in federal dollars for Minnesota public safety
- Introduced legislation to crack down on fraud in federal programs and ensure responsible use of taxpayer dollars
It’s a tremendous honor to represent you and your family in the United States Congress – and I’m grateful to work with all of you.
I hope you all a enjoy a wonderful, restful holiday season, and see you on the other side of 2025!
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
