I hope you have been enjoying a warm and joyful holiday with your loved ones. I’m writing to you today to extend a branch of hope as we head into 2025. The holidays remind me of the spirit of togetherness, giving, and hope.

The next four years will be tough with Trump back in the White House, but here in Oregon we are lucky to be in a position that many other states aren’t. With newly elected supermajorities in the Oregon House and Senate and pro-environment statewide leaders, we can and must still make progress on climate and defend against threats from the federal level.

Next year, we have important work to do protecting our clean air and water, making sure Oregonians have access to affordable energy, improving our communities’ climate resiliency, and passing an equitable and climate-friendly transportation package. We have our work cut out for us, and in addition to passing our priorities we know that we will have to defend against threats and rollbacks at the state and federal level.

There’s a lot ahead of us, but I’m hopeful because I know that we have you and thousands of other grassroots supporters with us. We accomplished a lot this year — securing nearly $20 million in funding for programs that help low income Oregonians lower their energy bills while increasing energy efficiency and clean energy, passing legislation to reduce e-waste, and protecting and strengthening our marine reserves. We elected over 84% of our endorsed candidates and secured supermajorities in the senate and house.
