I spent many years playing a law student and then a lawyer on the hit ABC series How to Get Away with Murder. And while our show mainly focused on the drama in the lives of law students and lawyers, it also touched on the systemic failures of the criminal legal system.

When I saw the news about Robert Roberson, an innocent father who narrowly avoided execution in Texas, I was compelled to act. Like many of you, I called on Gov. Abbott to stop Robert's execution.
