2024 has been our most expansive, far-reaching year yet at the Campaign for Southern Equality. We've organized, supported partners, and thrown ourselves into fights where we can make a difference – locally, regionally, and nationally. Here's a look at our impact:
We expanded the scope of our Trans Youth Emergency Project to include any state with an anti-trans healthcare ban, and now provide navigation and emergency grant funding to families in the Midwest, Mountain West, and across the South.
Western North Carolina suffered major damage from Hurricane Helene, and we responded by getting supplies to frontline partners and launching a weekly queer community space with hot meals, supplies, haircuts, and more.
We shared the stories from our book, Trans Kids, Our Kids, in 15 different cities, including throughout the Northeast and the South, to connect with folks in person and celebrate the power of storytelling.
We supported the media in documenting the impact of healthcare bans, including PBS NewsHour, who followed a Texas family that received support from TYEP and our partners at Elevated Access to chronicle their journey to New Mexico for healthcare access.
We are proud of the impact that we've made in 2024, all across the country – and it's only possible because of the generous support of our donor community. Please help us keep up the momentum as we head into a year that will surely be one of the most challenging yet for LGBTQ+ Americans. Thank you for your support. DONATE.
