This "in-between week” after Christmas and before the New Year can be a weird time. Maybe you're not really sure what day it is, and maybe we're all feeling a little exhausted. But it's also a great opportunity to pause and reflect.
2024 has tested us. Economic uncertainty and inflation hit hard, reducing funding from key partners, while costs rose. Families are struggling, making more kids vulnerable—and we’re seeing more children who need long-term care.
But it's not all tough news.
We've also seen some beautiful moments this year, like a young person in our care becoming the first in their family to go to college, or a teen who went through our Prevention Education trusting us enough to ask for help. And sometimes it's the small moments that bring joy – like when we surprised a girl in our Survivor Care with the exact quirky holiday gift she’d been wishing for. These moments remind us why we do what we do.
Whether it's a really challenging day, a breakthrough day, or both at the same time, we're committed to being there for kids.
