In this edition of E-Speaks, we're sharing a variety
of practical resources that can be helpful across the spectrum and
throughout the life span. From information on how to build a
multifaceted wandering prevention safety plan to a step-by-step
guide to help autistic teens reach their goals for adulthood in our
new Transition Roadmaps, this E-Speaks is packed with valuable
information you can use.
We're also sharing news of our exciting partnership with
the Autism Science Foundation and the launch of the Autism Research
Community COVID-19 Task Force. This collaboration will bring
research-based tools directly to the fingertips of the autism
community in today's ever-changing landscape.

Autism Speaks and the Autism Science Foundation mobilize research
community to respond to pandemic
People with autism of all ages and levels of need are experiencing
disruptions in essential services, which will ultimately impact their
development. Autism Speaks, in partnership with the Autism Science
Foundation, formed the Autism Research Community COVID-19 Task Force
([link removed] )
to mobilize autism researchers, many of whose research is on hold, to
offer a range of effective, evidence-informed tools for the autism
community. Vetted resources are available at autismspeaks.org/coronavirus
Summer safety: Wandering prevention
As summer approaches and communities re-open, it may be time to
re-visit your family's safety plan in the event your child might
wander. Take into account any changes in home, school and activity
settings due to COVID-19. Visit our Wandering Prevention Resources to put together a written plan. Share it with all of your child's caregivers and bring it with you if you choose to travel:
