Dear John, we hope you are having a wonderful holiday season.

Our team here at the California Democratic Party is now laser-focused on our final Federal Election Commission (FEC) Filing Deadline before Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The stakes of this filing deadline couldn’t be higher. We will be doing a lot of our 2025 budgeting based on how much we raise before the end of the year — which could impact our ability to keep year-round organizing programs going.

Additionally, this filing is fully public. That means that the media and pundits can take a close look at how energized our grassroots team is. If they see a downward trajectory in our resources, they will run endless stories on how Democrats are giving up and letting Donald Trump run wild.

But we aren’t giving up. Nothing close to it.

In fact, California just had a special session to allocate funding needed for our state to stand up to Trump. Additionally, we mobilized tons of volunteers and supporters during our ultra-close U.S. House races to ensure that every vote was counted.

Now, we need to prove that we have the energy and momentum to hold Trump accountable and take back the U.S. House. And the best way to do that is show our grassroots fundraising efforts are holding strong and are capable of funding “always-on” organizing.
