Hi John,

I’m a little sad that my tenure as PRA’s executive director ends this month, but I’m so proud of the work we’ve done and know that PRA will be essential as we confront rising autocracy in the months ahead. My parting request is for you to give your best gift. Can the PRA team and I count on your support as we begin to scale up our fight against authoritarian movements?

Because of supporters like you, PRA’s staff have made incredible strides in our struggle against fascism. To name just a few highlights, in 2024 we:

• Convened a broad front against authoritarianism under the umbrella of Time to Act, in addition to forging new alliances with pro-democracy organizations at home and abroad in anticipation of confronting revitalized fascism and authoritarianism.

• Shifted public narrative on authoritarian threats by producing the research underpinning national coverage of key threats including: the New Apostolic Reformation at the cutting edge of the Christian Right; the powerful anti-Palestinian and anti-Jewish Christian Zionist movement; and far-right sheriffs lining up to enable mass deportations, among more. 

• Hired our next Executive Director, Sylvia Broude, to scale up PRA’s impact and ability to be even more powerful at leading the fight to resist authoritarianism. 

With the incoming administration, it’s more important than ever that PRA expand its capacity to meet the research, analysis, and strategy needs of our most vulnerable movements.

Your gift today will make our plans for 2025 possible:

• Increase the scale and depth of the research briefings and strategy planning that PRA’s partnerships department provides to on-the-ground organizers to resist Christian nationalism, anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ measures; as well as attacks on immigrants, religious minorities, our public schools, and critical race theory, among many more. 

• Grow our public programming and publishing, bringing to the fore issues often overlooked by mainstream media, including the connections between the Christian Right and Christian Zionism, Hindu Nationalism and its partnership with the U.S. Right, and far-right law enforcement.

• Mobilize across the intersections of Race, Immigrant, Economic, and Gender Justice to prepare and strategize building a united front to block accelerating authoritarianism 

Under the leadership of incoming Executive Director Sylvia Broude, PRA will be at the forefront of the fight against an aspiring authoritarian regime across the country, pledging never to give up or back down until we realize a truly just, multiracial feminist democracy for all. 

But we need your support to make our plans a reality.

You and I both know the danger our democracy is facing in 2025. With your support, we can continue to inform movement strategy. My parting request is for you to support PRA with all you can. Thank you.
