The Trump administration is considering pulling National Guardsmen from Coronavirus response just one day before they would qualify for Federal benefits for their service.
After 90 days of duty, these heroes’ time fighting the pandemic would count toward the Federal education and retirement benefits that they deserve. But the Trump plan is to pull them off duty at 89 days.
It’s yet another slap in the face from the Trump administration to those who have risked their lives in service of our country. We won’t stand for it, and we need your help to speak out.
As deeply insulting as it is to see Donald Trump penny-pinch our troops, it is just as worrying that he’s willing to take coronavirus frontline workers away from states that aren’t prepared to fill in the gap.
This is just another on a long list of examples of Donald Trump not respecting military service, not understanding the sacrifices the military makes to protect us, and viewing our heroes as numbers on a spreadsheet.
