Not sure if you saw, but wanted to forward the email we sent out yesterday. In it, we announced our End-of-Year Grassroots Fundraising Goal, but we also included a list of some of the progress that Maura has made this year.
It’s divided into sections like health care, affordability, and education. It’s pretty long, but if you haven’t had a moment to check it out, I think it’s worth taking a look.
That list represents a real difference in the lives of millions. It represents standing up for what’s right, and never backing down on protecting our freedoms. It represents meeting our biggest problems with even bigger solutions.
That’s what Maura’s been doing. Right now, she’s building the foundation for a better future. We’re here to help power her work and help her keep up the momentum. Because as much as she’s done, she has so much left to accomplish, and we can’t slow down now. More than ever, we need Massachusetts to do what we’ve always done, and lead the way.
I believe in Maura because she’s making sure that Massachusetts remains a beacon of hope, and a shining example that when we lift each other up, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish together.

Subject: Maura got a lot done in 2024. We made a list.
It’s nearly the end of 2024, and we’re emailing for two reasons:
- To let you know about our End of Year Grassroots Fundraising Drive.
- In case you’re curious about what Maura has accomplished this year, we made a list.
First off, the fundraising drive — we’ll keep this part quick — Maura has been a historic governor for Massachusetts, delivering on issue after issue (more on that in a minute!). She’s stood up to hate and division. She’s brought our commonwealth together to protect freedom, grow our economy, and build a Massachusetts that leaves no one behind.
We’re proud that she’s our governor, and we hope you are too.
Maura’s a big team player, so you might have noticed that we didn’t send out a lot of fundraising emails for her this fall because we were so focused on supporting other candidates in important races around the country. That said, we have a bit of ground to make up, and it would make a huge difference if we could hit our End of Year Grassroots Goal.

Now, if you’re curious about the work that Maura has been doing, we’ve got you.
From transportation, to health care, to education, to affordability, to innovation— there’s a lot to go through. To make it a little easier, we’ve broken it down by category and put together a list with just some of what she’s accomplished this year:
Maura is making health care more accessible and affordable:
- On the two year anniversary of the Dobbs decision, Maura signed an executive order protecting access to emergency abortion care and preserving the state’s stockpile of lifesaving medication Mifepristone.
- Maura expanded ConnectorCare, allowing 51,000 people to get more affordable health care coverage.
- Maura’s maternal health bill will now help make sure that women have access to midwives, birth centers, and doulas before, during, and after pregnancy.
- Maura signed a bill ensuring patients have access to follow-up breast cancer screenings and preventing increases to patient costs.
- By expanding youth mental health access at local health centers, Maura cut youth mental health emergency room stays in half.
Massachusetts now has the highest share of residents with health insurance coverage (+98%), the lowest premature death rate in the country, and the lowest share of adults in fair or poor health. In 2024, it was named the best state for women.
With historic progress on education, Maura is investing in our future:
- Public 4-year college enrollment in Massachusetts was on the decline for years. Maura reduced public higher education costs for middle-class families, leading to an enrollment increase in 2024 for the first time in over a decade.
- In a historic step, Maura made community college cost-free for everyone, leading to a massive 14% spike in enrollment.
- The administration expanded universal pre-K access in eight additional school districts, creating 259 new affordable pre-K seats for children in Gateway Cities and rural communities.
- After Maura signed a bill to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students, a total of 300 million meals have been provided to students statewide, removing financial stress for parents and ensuring no child goes hungry at school.
In 2024, Massachusetts was named the best state to raise a family and the state with the best schools.
The Healey-Driscoll Administration is pulling out all the stops to increase affordability:
Maura’s $1B tax cut (MA’s first cut in 20 years) went into effect in 2024. As a result:
- Massachusetts now has the most generous child tax credit in the nation. This year, 591,000 families benefited.
- The new expanded rental deduction helped 868,000 renters.
- 64,000 seniors saved an average of $1,000 because Maura expanded the circuit breaker tax credit.
- The expanded earned income tax credit provided relief to 32,600 low and moderate-income families.
But that’s just a fraction of the work she’s doing to make Massachusetts more affordable:
- Maura increased pay transparency by requiring employers to disclose salary ranges and protecting an employee’s right to ask for them.
- Governor Healey signed into law the Affordable Homes Act, the most ambitious housing plan in state history, creating and preserving 65,000 homes to ensure that people who work in our communities can afford to live in them.
- The Healey-Driscoll Administration has partnered with over 115 communities to implement the MBTA Communities Law, creating an additional 3,000 new housing units to bring down costs.
- In order to bring down energy costs for consumers and increase our energy independence, Maura signed a new climate law cutting red tape in the way of getting clean energy projects up and running more quickly.
- This year, the Massachusetts economy added 33,000 jobs, helping keep the unemployment rate consistently below the national average.
- She became the first Governor in over 50 years to create a Labor Advisory Council.
For the first time, Massachusetts has the highest median household income of any state in the country, and ranked as the third-best state economy in America.
She’s getting transportation back on track:
- Maura delivered the highest level of funding to the MBTA in 20 years, including $600M for rail and station upgrades to improve safety and reliability.
- The MBTA delivered on its promise to remove slow zones from across the system for the first time in decades!
- Maura won $9 billion in federal funding for critical transportation, climate, and economic development projects.
- Her administration delivered funding to Regional Transit Authorities for fare-free service year round, lowering costs for hundreds of thousands.
There’s more work to do, but Maura is making historic strides to fix the T, invest in infrastructure, and make getting around Massachusetts easier, quicker, and safer for every community.
Under Maura, Massachusetts is leading the world on innovation:
- Maura is building on the success of Massachusetts’ life sciences sector with the Mass Leads Act.
- She’s making Massachusetts a global center for climate innovation by authorizing an unprecedented $400M to support climatetech initiatives and pioneers in the sector.
- Maura worked with other states to deliver the largest offshore wind selection in New England history, announcing a historic procurement which will power homes and create thousands of jobs.
18 of the top 20 largest global life science companies are located in Massachusetts, and we lead the country in venture capital invested per capita. 28 Massachusetts companies were named to TIME Magazine's Top Green Tech Companies for 2024, and today 1.4 million residents work in Massachusetts’ innovation economy, building the technology of tomorrow.

All of these accomplishments aren’t just bullet points on a screen. This list isn’t about Team Healey, and it’s not even about Maura — it’s about the difference these policies will make in the lives of people across our state.
We’re proud of what this list means for every kid who didn’t go hungry in English class, every senior who breathes a little easier knowing that they can cover their bills, and every person who knows that their rights will always be protected in our state.
