Dear Friend,

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to thank you for being an integral part of ARC’s mission to end mass incarceration and build pathways of hope and opportunity. This year has been transformative, and your generosity has fueled life-changing work.

Thanks to your support, here’s what we accomplished together in 2024:

• HART & Credible Messenger Programs: 4,842 participants inside and outside California prisons received mentorship and education, including 996 transitional-age youth (TAY) who were supported by our Credible Messengers.

• Ride Home Program: 279 individuals were provided a ride home upon their release beginning their reentry with dignity.

• Housing: 192 individuals, including 38 TAY, accessed transitional housing as a cornerstone for stability.

• Mental Health: 2075 counseling sessions were provided to 196 Members giving them the tools to heal and build resilience. Every resident at our Magnolia TAY housing is now enrolled in therapy and workforce training.

• Workforce & Education: 157 enrolled in our Second Chance Apprenticeship Program; 96 graduated, and 49 secured jobs in the trades. Our Ventura Training Center is now an accredited Firefighter 1 academy, with 71 new participants this year.

We also achieved significant policy wins, and while setbacks on two bills tested our resolve, we’re undeterred. Together, we’ve passed 35 bills since ARC’s inception, and we will continue to push for reforms that prioritize rehabilitation, stable housing, employment, and mental health care—proven building blocks of public safety.

Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to announce two milestones for 2025:

• A New Headquarters: Opening in the heart of Echo Park this spring, giving us space to expand our programs and impact.

• Women-Only Fire Crew Program: A groundbreaking Los Angeles County training program offering women Members the opportunity to excel in fire service and open new career paths.

With your continued support, we’ll deepen our impact, expand programs, and strengthen advocacy for reforms that heal communities and enhance public safety.

This year, every dollar you give up to $35,000 will be matched, doubling your impact. Please consider making a year-end gift to sustain this movement and provide hope to those who need it most.

Thank you for believing in redemption, justice, and the power of second chances. Your generosity changes lives, and we couldn’t do this without you.
Sincerely,
Sam Lewis
