This closure is to allow us to set-up the stage and tents for New Year's Auburn 2025! The municipal parking garage and surface lot will be accessible. Main Street will reopen late on New Year's Eve (approx. 11:00PM).   CHRISTMAS TREE DISPOSAL When you're ready to get rid of your live Christmas tree, there are 4 locations to choose from. Auburn residents can drop trees (at no charge) at: * Auburn Public Works on Gracelawn Road - place trees near the resident sand shed * Maine Waste-to-Energy on Goldthwaite Road * Oldcastle/Jolly Gardener at 481 Spring Road, Poland or * Engine 2 Fire Station, 181 South Main Street in New Auburn IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT place your trees curbside; they will not be collected. Be sure there are no decorations on your tree, and do not leave wreaths (they are made using wire). TREES MUST BE DROPPED BEFORE JANUARY 31!  REMINDER! There is no curbside collection on New Year's Day. There WILL be a special collection TOMORROW (Saturday, December 28) for residents with Wednesday collection to make up for no collection on Christmas Day. Residents can also drive through & drop off household trash at Maine Waste-to-Energy on Goldthwaite Road at no charge.
