Friends,
We asked Trump to refrain from using inflammatory language in our state. We
welcome political discussion, and even disagreements, but here in New
Hampshire, we do it respectfully.
Last night, Trump disregarded our time-honored tradition of civil discourse by
not respecting our wishes. It disappoints me and frankly, it frightens me. He
mocked a man for his appearance, he used all of his tired refrains from 2016
and then, he claimed that Granite Staters didn't have a choice in who they vote
for.I'm here to tell you that you do have a choice; that is what democracy is.
We can’t afford another 4 years of this deep division in our nation that he
has so recklessly nurtured and exploited. We must find a way to apply our New
Hampshire tradition of bipartisanship, spirited political discourse and
respectful disagreement everywhere in our country.
That simply won’t happen if Trump wins or if we lose the House majority.
Neither of these scenarios is acceptable.
I’m asking you to give a little towards our mid-quarter goal. Trump is going
to be laser-focused on New Hampshire and make no mistake, it will affect us.
Let’s hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Give if you can here:
