As 2024 draws to a close, we want to take a look back at some of the ways your support transformed lives this past year.
Thanks to you, our Flying Eye Hospital landed in Mongolia and Bangladesh where our Volunteer Faculty trained nearly 800 eye care professionals. A further 34 training projects took place in local hospitals in low-income countries, setting up communities for generations of world-class care.
In Ethiopia, your generosity helped distribute more than 6 million doses of vision-saving antibiotics and conduct nearly 10,000 trachomatous trichiasis surgeries. That’s a lot of healthy eyes!
You helped launch our innovative Women Leaders in Eye Health initiative and celebrated Cybersight, our award-winning telemedicine and eLearning tool, surpassing 100,000 registered users.
Moving into 2025, we’re excited to continue innovating through projects like our AI eye screening in Vietnam and our newest VR surgical training solution – improving access to diagnostics and training in the communities that need it the most. We’re also excited to take the Flying Eye Hospital to Ghana and Rwanda. Stay tuned for more info soon.
