Looking back on 2024

Dear supporter,

In the past year, we have successfully:

  • challenged attempts to introduce new laws banning so-called conversion therapy;
  • defended the preaching of the Gospel in public;
  • advocated for tighter gambling restrictions;
  • argued against plans to clamp down on free speech, and;
  • assisted hundreds of Christians in need of expert advice on education or other legal matters.

There have also been general elections in both the UK and Ireland, and sadly we have seen the British Isles start down the road of assisted suicide.

Revisit these and more of the most significant events of the past twelve months with The Christian Institute’s Review of the Year 2024 and accompanying feature-length article.

More personally, both our founders, Director Colin Hart and former Chairman John Burn, passed into Glory in 2025. They are greatly missed, but we give thanks to God for their lives and legacy. Thank you to everyone who has joined with us in being a Christian influence. Whether writing to your elected representatives, responding to a consultation, or getting involved with your child’s school – it makes a big difference.

We give thanks to God for all his goodness to us once again, and trust him to provide for our every need in 2025, where many of these issues will continue to need our expertise. Please remember us in your prayers as we go about this challenging work.

Yours in Christ,
Ciarán Kelly
