John,
When a child first comes to Love146, they often feel trapped in a reality shaped by crisis and exploitation. But because of supporters like you, that reality can change.
*Isaiah, a young person in our Survivor Care program, shared this reflection:
"My trafficker made me believe I couldn’t survive without him. So when I first met Love146, I was freaked out. I thought telling people like them too much could get me in trouble. So I sat there while they talked to me about trafficking and stuff. Right after that, I was on the run for a while. When I was able to come back, Love146 showed up again and helped me realize that he was actually trafficking me. I was so embarrassed and stuck, but Miss Becky told me I wasn’t a bad kid and I didn’t have to fix this all by myself. Today, life’s not all about that bad stuff that happened. It’s about the things I’m doing now, like graduating and getting my first apartment with friends my age. I’m doing okay."
The three simple words—“I’m doing okay”—reflect an extraordinary journey.
Isaiah’s transformation didn’t happen overnight. It took time, trust, and people like you who made sure Love146 could show up again and again.
Children are vulnerable to trafficking, especially right now as economic strains push some families into crisis. But you can help.
An anonymous group of donors has committed to match your gift, dollar-for-dollar. That means your donation today will go twice as far.
Give before December 31st to help meet urgent needs and keep our programs strong—for Isaiah, and for every child still waiting for their chance to be okay.
