The New Year is just six days away, and I know many of you are anxious
about what lies ahead for our state and country since Donald Trump won the
presidential election in November.

I am too, but I’m here to reassure you that my office and the state of
California are ready to fight back when necessary, while we continue to
serve as a positive example for the nation in addressing key issues like
climate change and gun violence prevention.

There’s been a ton of headlines since November about our state’s efforts
to prepare for Trump 2.0. If he breaks the law or attempts to roll back
our freedoms — from immigration to environmental protections to
reproductive rights — I will be there to take action.

We are in this together, and we will get through 2025 and the next four
years working side by side. You are not alone.

It’s going to take a lot of work on my end, so my team set an ambitious
goal of raising $30,000 before December ends to build our resources and
keep me focused on the job at hand rather than fundraising.
