Today, we're launching a new campaign alongside Indivisible to demand safe voting in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. And I'm asking you to join it. Will you take a moment now
This is the most important election year of our lives — and no one should be forced to choose between casting their vote and protecting their health.
That's why, last month, I laid out steps that our leaders need to take to protect our elections during the coronavirus crisis, like...
Expanded vote-by-mail, including mailing every registered voter a ballot,
Safer in-person voting locations,
And expanded early voting periods.
But Republicans are practically dancing over the chance to exploit this pandemic to double-down on voter suppression.
We need to fight even harder for our democracy. So today, we're launching a new campaign alongside Indivisible to demand safe voting in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. And I'm asking you to join it.
This can't wait — our government needs to start laying the groundwork now to prepare for safe, secure elections in November.
Our leaders know how to make it safe to vote. They just need to be persuaded to act — and that's where you come in.
You can tell them that this is a priority for you. And you won't be alone. You'll be adding your voice to a conversation that's growing in D.C. and across the country.
Now, sometimes, an issue like protecting our elections can feel so big that it's hard to get a handle on it. Where can we even start to make a difference?
Here's the way I see it: In times like these, when people's lives and livelihoods are on the line, it is more important than ever that elected representatives are held accountable.
Together, by fighting for expanded vote-by-mail and safe in-person voting, we can guard the beating heart of our democracy.
