Fellow American,
It was a Mother’s Day none of us will forget.
Yes, the socially distant and virtual celebrations played a role.
But more important — and more personally — this uncertain time has given us all a deep, renewed appreciation for our families and our wonderful mothers.
Americans are relying on their families for financial help, moral support, and childcare like never before. That’s because, as government, business, schools, and even religious institutions have been forced to close, only our families have remained as the solid bedrock of our lives.
As pro-family activists, you and I recognize that the family is the foundation of our society.
And you and I can see now that American families are under serious strain from the COVID-19 pandemic — especially as many states’ unprecedented “lockdown” rules continue.
Congress had previously passed bipartisan measures that provided much-needed emergency economic relief and healthcare assistance for Americans and their families.
But last week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her House Democrats jammed legislation through the U.S. House that turns our country’s united efforts against COVID-19 into handouts and special treatment for their political supporters.
That’s shameful and wrong … and it could lead to millions of struggling American families being left behind, perhaps for good.
Pro-family activists like you and me must speak up and make sure American families are not forgotten at this critical time! But it’s important that we act TODAY.
Leaders in Washington, D.C. are negotiating right now about what they should prioritize in the final coronavirus relief legislation.
President Trump and Senate Majority Leader McConnell have held the line against the outrageous, cynical demands of House Democrats; but they’ll need to find a compromise to get the final legislation passed.
You and I must speak up before their negotiations are finished … and before they pass the final round of emergency coronavirus relief legislation expected this summer.
Fellow American, American families are counting on you and me to speak up for them at this critical time.
Remember: today more than 50 million children are shut out of school, and more than 30 million Americans have filed for unemployment.
And every day, parents must grapple with their own concerns about an uncertain year (and an uncertain future), while they provide support and an environment of hope, rather than fear, for their children or grandchildren.
As our leaders in Washington, D.C. consider coronavirus relief legislation, they must prioritize policies that strengthen families and family formation. But they won’t act if they don’t hear from pro-family activists like you and me!
