Dear John,
Don’t let the progress we’ve made this year get erased.
Yes, we’ve faced incredible hardship. But we’ve also made an incredible impact. Because the National Women’s Law Center was built for moments like these.
After all, we’ve survived many before.
Throughout our 52-year history, we have faced pushback from those who would rather see women silenced and on the sidelines. But day after day, decade after decade, we have fought for our right to an abortion. We have dared to demand that women be treated with respect on the job. We have guided, guarded, and brought Title IX to life, so that all students can learn without harassment. We have secured record funding for child care, so families can thrive.
We are nowhere close to stopping. And no one can stop us—if we’re backed by your support.
This year proves it. With your generous donations, we were able to: [[link removed]]
* Represent Anna Nusslock, who was denied lifesaving abortion care by a Catholic hospital in California.
* Achieve two landmark decisions after suing an insurance company over their discriminatory practices against LGBTQ+ individuals seeking fertility treatments, helping people nationwide get access to the care they need.
* Push the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to adopt strong rules for the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act safeguarding protection for a broad and diverse range of pregnancy-related accommodations, including those related to abortion.
* Push the Senate to confirm outstanding judicial nominations to ensure there are fair, unbiased judges throughout the court system who will help preserve our democracy and the rule of law.
We are able to do this work because we did it together. You are an essential part of the National Women’s Law Center, so I hope you’ll join us with a tax-deductible year-end gift while it will be matched dollar for dollar. [[link removed]]
We are living through terrifying times. But each day, I am more motivated to do this work because of the activists and advocates like you who dare to imagine a better future—and who remind me, and all of us, that change is possible.
In solidarity,
