In just a few short days, there will be a special election in Senate District 32 to replace Congressman-elect Subramanyam, and far-right Republicans think they have a prime opportunity to pick up this seat. If they flip SD-32, Republicans will seize control of the State Senate, and our hard-fought Blue wall will collapse.
Delegate Kannan Srinivasan is the Democratic nominee for this seat, and I know firsthand that he is the strong, principled leader we need. Kannan will stand up to right-wing extremists and work to make Virginia a more affordable, equitable place for all of us. JJ Singh is simultaneously running to replace Delegate Srinivasan in the House of Delegates in a special election on the same day. Since, Democrats have only one seat majorities in both houses, it is crucial that Democrats in the districts are aware the elections and come out to vote.
I hope you can join me on Friday, January 3rd, at a canvass launch for Kannan and JJ! Knocking on doors is the best way to let voters know about this critical election, and we need all the help we can get to turn out Democrats and keep Virginia blue. Please consider signing up below 👇
If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation to my "Save the Senate Fund." Every dollar you contribute will go directly to electing Kannan Srinivasan and keeping SD-32—and the entire State Senate—blue.
Furthermore, if you live in SD-32 or HD-26 (both are in Loudoun County), early votinghas already started! If you have friends or family who live in either district, please remind them to go vote. Election Day is January 7th. You can learn more about the upcoming election here.
See you next Friday!
Sincerely,
Senator Saddam Azlan Salim
