The American Lung Association celebrated its 120th anniversary. From
tackling tuberculous to taking on the tobacco industry, we’ve been at the forefront of protecting lung health since 1904.
Since the link between tobacco use and lung disease became clear back in the early
1900s, the Lung Association has fought to end the epidemic once and for all.
Our advocacy helped eliminate smoking on domestic flights, championed the passing of
the Tobacco Control Act and helped increase the age of sale for all tobacco products to 21.
Our educational campaigns have evolved from spreading the dangers of secondhand
smoke to helping parents talk to their kids about the harms of vaping.
Push progress twice as far!
We know our work to create a world where everyone can breathe easier is far from over.
But, here’s what our 120-year legacy has taught us: There’s nothing we can’t do, if we do
it together.
Please join us in creating a world free of lung disease by making a donation today.
Thanks to our friends at the Marilyn Brachman Hoffman Foundation, your generosity will double in impact, up to $108,900.
