The Special Olympics community is well-known for our boldness, joyfulness, and belief that anything is possible with hard work and fierce determination. So I’m excited to announce our one-day-only Unlock Challenge! Here’s how it works:

With just a few short days left in this year, I am reflecting on the extraordinary spirit and commitment of every athlete, family member, volunteer, and supporter who championed inclusion in 2024. Our Special Olympics movement that celebrates and elevates every individual with every set of abilities is as strong as ever, thanks to you and our millions-strong family. 

That’s especially important right now at the end of the year. I’m writing to you to ask for your support during our 2024 Unlock Challenge because each of us must pledge to recommit to inclusion – on and off the playing field – as we look to build a future our kids and grandkids can belong in and thrive in. 

Inclusion includes empathy, so let’s practice it. Inclusion includes treating everyone with dignity, so let’s model it. Inclusion includes taking courageous action: We can do that by playing our way into the future of both justice and joy we’re all striving to create!
