The Unz Review Digest - August 16, 2019
The strange death of imprisoned billionaire sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein dominated this week’s rankings, with three of the six most popular featured articles relating to that subject. Most popular by a very wide margin was former CIA Officer Philip Giraldi’s piece initially discussing Epstein’s death and some of the suspicious circumstances of his demise, which attracted substantially more readership than the next two articles combined, along with almost 1,000 comments, totaling nearly 100,000 words. The controversy revived the popularity of the same author’s previous article from a few weeks ago which suggested the reasonably likelihood that Epstein’s mysterious sources of funds and likely blackmailing activities over the years indicated that he had likely been operating in the service of the Israeli Mossad, gaining leverage over powerful political and financial figures on behalf of that organization. Also gaining additional readership was my own article from three weeks ago, now placing fifth, which suggested that Epstein’s activities probably fit into a major pattern in which leading American political figures are controlled by hidden blackmail, often of a sexual nature, with the article now ranking as one of the most popular of the last year.
Racially-related topics dominated the remaining three spots of this week’s most popular features, with the third-ranking piece by Linh Dinh exploring the surprising popularity of whiteness and white people in the current consumer advertising of Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations.
Just below that was a personal account of Chilean immigrant Nicolás Palacios Navarro, who originally arrived in Los Angeles with his family as a young child, and soon experienced considerable disillusionment with the behavior of American blacks, which was considerably different than was suggested by the curriculum he had absorbed in American schools.
Finally, rounding out our most popular featured articles was C.J. Hopkins’ rather tongue-in-cheek discussion of how our ruling political and media elites have so seamlessly transitioned their narrative from the national threat of Russia to the sudden new national threat of White Supremacist Terror, raising doubts about whether the latter is any more real than the former had been.
But Many More Questions Remain to be Answered
The Jeffrey Epstein saga goes on even though convicted pedophile Epstein himself has been found hanged in his jail cell in Manhattan. One has to wonder how he managed to kill himself, if that is indeed the case, as he was reportedly on suicide watch at the prison and it is to be presumed that...

The extent of Israeli spying directed against the United States is a huge story that is only rarely addressed in the mainstream media. The Jewish state regularly tops the list for ostensibly friendly countries that aggressively conduct espionage against the U.S. and Jewish American Jonathan Pollard, who was imprisoned in 1987 for spying for Israel,...

My last three years in high school, I was in Northern Virginia. I hung out at Springfield Mall and Wakefield Recreation Center. Though I had lame handles and an erratic shot, I still managed to get into pickup games, and each time I hoisted up a brick, my buddy, Kelvin Nash, would holler, “Riceman!” I...

Our Reigning Political Puppets, Dancing to Invisible Strings
The death of Sen. John McCain last August revealed some important truths about the nature of our establishment media. McCain's family had released word of his incurable brain cancer many months earlier and his passing at age 84 was long expected, so media outlets great and small had possessed all the time necessary for producing...

It sucks being young, male, and single. Don't think so? Go to the Interactive Singles Map of the United States and see how it looks for the 20 to 39 age group. America again wins the annual International Math Olympiad! The contest pits the brightest high-school students of countries against each other in six-member teams. The American victories continue the mastery by the European cultures that invented most of modern math. This supports the claim (I hope I do not sound racist) that European superiority is genetic....

Daring Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has killed a sacred cow, called Article 370 of the Constitution, enshrining the autonomy of Kashmir. The consequences could be dire, including the fourth India-Pakistan war, but not necessarily so. It could also be a successful scheme. Apparently, Narendra Modi had been encouraged by his success in...

When dull meet bright, tough love rules
What happens when above average and below average ability people have to deal with each other? Specifically, how will they interact when potentially both are able to gain from the exchange? Israel's man in the House of Representatives
It is astonishing that in the wake of the two mass killings in Dayton and El Paso that have been attributed both by the media and the Democrats to “racism,” a senior U.S. Congressman has led a delegation of 41 of his Democratic Party colleagues plus spouses on a week-long luxury all-expenses-paid trip to Israel,...

The Western public has been so poorly served, in recent years, by its supposed world-class media organisations that any semblance of a coherent narrative explaining world events and tying together their deeper, underlying, causes to one another, has almost completely disappeared from the programming of the major networks. More often than not, international affairs are...
