Email from VoteWater A message from our Executive Director and a look at what lies ahead in 2025   Tell the Army Corps to stop the discharges! TAKE ACTION: Complete this letter to Col. Brandon Bowman with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; or email Bowman at [email protected] Dear VoteWater community: The holidays are upon us and I wanted to say “thanks” for your support in 2024. We accomplished a lot this year, with our “Dirty Money Project," our advocacy on the state parks issue, our endorsements, our “Deep Dive” investigations and more. All of it was made possible by your generosity. And as the year winds down I’d like to invite you to consider VoteWater in your year-end giving, as we gear up for what’s guaranteed to be an equally busy 2025. With discharges underway to the northern estuaries, new leadership in Tallahassee that may be less friendly to the clean-water cause and the “dirty money” continuing to roll in, the new year will involve new challenges. We’ll be there, and we hope you’ll be there with us, fighting for the clean-water future all Floridians deserve — at Christmas and beyond. CLICK HERE TO SUPPORT VOTEWATER ICYMI: First bill filed to stop state parks development The first of what looks to be several bills regarding the controversial proposal to develop Florida’s state parks has dropped, and it’s good — but it could be better. We take at look at Sen. Gayle Harrell's "State Park Preservation Act," as we wait for companion legislation to be introduced in the House; there's tweaking to be done, but hopefully the Legislature understands that the people of Florida want to keep their state parks wild. Sign the petition, make a donation, volunteer your time and help Floridians secure a future with clean and safe water for all.
