This week in Philadelphia, 6 police officers were wounded in an 8-hour
standoff with a shooter. It takes more to stop a bad guy with a gun than a
good guy with a gun.

CNBC reports that the "NRA spent $1.6 million lobbying against background
check expansion" in the first 6 months of this year. Predictably, The New
York Times adds that Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell "has said he
has no intention of bringing the Senate back early to consider it." He is
the top person blocking progress.

We found Republican gun owners in Mitch McConnell's home state of Kentucky
who want him to pass new gun laws. As he faces a tough re-election, now's
the time to apply home state pressure.

McConnell's home state of Kentucky where it can exact a political price to
balance out what McConnell gets from the gun lobby.

We first made this TV ad in 2013 after the Sandy Hook school shooting as
part of a series of ads featuring gun owners who support reform. Sadly,
these TV ads are still applicable today -- with the only update being how
much money McConnell has taken from the gun lobby, going from $198,615 to
$671,347.

The TV ads changed the national dialogue and were covered nationally by
CNN, The Washington Post, ABC, CBS, Roll Call, Yahoo News, TPM, Huffington
Post, and others. In Kentucky, the Louisville Courier Journal, local NBC,
local FOX, The Leo Weekly, the Associated Press, and others covered them.

They are just as powerful today -- maybe even more so because they show
how long McConnell has been blocking gun reform for the gun industry.

McConnell's home state of Kentucky. Together, let's make sure McConnell
pays a political price to balance out the money the gun industry spends to
elect him.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told PCCC members, "The majority of Americans are with us on the policies. Americans support Medicare for All, expanding Social Security benefits, gun reform, debt-free college, and a $15 minimum wage. Bold progressive values are popular EVERYWHERE. Together, we have the people. Together, with your help, we’ll have the votes." Chip in $3 here: [link removed]
