Debra Hathaway, Doña Ana County Commission, District 4

Debra grew up in humble beginnings, raised on a struggling farm in a rural community. Although her parents were uneducated, they knew the value of a good education. Debra's professional career includes: U.S. Army Civilian (retired)-Outreach and Deployment Director during four combat deployments, New Mexico State House Majority Analyst, Executive Director of an NAEYC accredited Early Childhood Education Center, Regional Manager American Heart Association and County Outreach Director of the Children's Health Insurance Program. She is wife to Rob, mother of two adult daughters Julie and Danielle, and a "Gma" to five: Aidan, Liam, Dannah, Patrick, and Piper. 

 

 

 

Billie Helean, NM House of Representatives, District 57

Billie Helean is a proud mom and dedicated teacher in Rio Rancho who believes that raising the next generation of New Mexicans to be successful requires strong families, good schools, and safe communities. Billie and her husband Kevin understand the challenges faced by hard working families—because that's what they are. As New Mexicans, we deserve a leader who is committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and thrive. Billie is offering a new kind of leadership for District 57 – let's get it done, together!

 

 

 

Siah Correa Hemphill, NM State Senate, District 28

Siah has been an educator for 25 years, working as a teacher, a school psychologist and as a director of special education in Silver City. Siah is running for the State Senate to fight for the kids she teaches, children like her son who are disabled, and all of the parents who work hard to make ends meet.
 


 

 

 

 

 

Judge Shammara Henderson, Judge of the Court of Appeals, Position 2

Judge Shammara Henderson serves as a judge on the New Mexico Court of Appeals. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, Shammara graduated from Valley High School. Shammara received a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from American University in Washington, D.C., where she received a full ride with the highly competitive Frederick Douglass Scholarship.  Shammara received her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law where she received the W.E. Bondurant Scholarship and University of New Mexico Graduate Fellowship and upon graduation the Dean’s Award. Shammara has always had the strong desire to serve her fellow New Mexicans. 

 

 


Rep. Dayan ‘Day’ Hochman-Vigil, NM House of Representatives, District 15 

Day was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her father was a local doctor, rancher and small business owner outside of Glorieta, while her mother managed a restaurant on the Santa Fe Plaza.  At an early age, Day became interested in language, political science and the arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colorado College, graduated from UNM School of Law, and holds a Master's degree in Aviation and Space Law from McGill University. Day owns and practices law at DHV Law, LLC, a firm focusing on aviation and space regulatory law and litigation.
