During the pandemic, we’re helping to keep clinics open

[link removed]
Dear John,
What if you or someone you loved couldn’t receive the health care they needed during the pandemic? Ipas knows firsthand that women and girls still need contraception and safe abortion during a crisis, but the barriers to care increase. That’s why we’re fighting to protect abortion access around the world.

Since 2017, we’ve been training paramedics, midwives and doctors to provide reproductive health care in Bangladesh’s refugee camps. Toyoba’s story ([link removed]) of becoming a refugee and then safely ending an unwanted pregnancy with care from an Ipas-trained health worker highlights why abortion access is essential—especially in crisis settings.

The first cases of COVID-19 are now being reported in these camps, threatening to make life much harder than it already was for refugees. Our staff is on the ground working to ensure clinics stay open no matter what.
