I am writing this as I count down the hours to crowding around a festive table with my family and friends.

At the same time, I am thinking about the families who have no place to gather because their homes were taken from them by war or disaster. Those who don’t know where or when they’ll eat their next meal and those battling frigid temperatures in inadequate shelters.

As the Vice President of Emergency Response, it’s my job to help our teams on the ground respond to the urgent needs of families in crisis. I can tell you, from more than a decade of experience at Mercy Corps, that our response starts with you.

Every donation Mercy Corps receives helps us respond quickly when every second matters, helps deliver a food or shelter kit, helps keep our teams on the ground long after the headlines fade, and so much more.

Today, I’m asking you to make your year-end gift to help us reach even more families in need this holiday season and beyond thanks to our generous partner, Ripple, who have given $500,000 to encourage our community of supporters to match their gift.
2X my impact ▸
Here are a few ways your gift can make a difference for families driven from their homes by conflict and disaster:
Since the full-scale war in Ukraine began nearly three years ago, Mercy Corps has distributed food, clothing, hygiene and medical kits; and offered temporary housing and mental health support to more than 785,000 people impacted by the war.

In Gaza, Mercy Corps is delivering urgently needed supplies to families trapped inside the region and has provided psychosocial support to more than 2,500 children who have spent their days searching for food and water under near-constant bombardment.

As the war in the Middle East spilled into Lebanon, Mercy Corps delivered more than 1,000 hygiene kits, 5,000 shelter supply kits, and 41,000 hot meals to displaced people along the southern border.
You’re an essential part of helping communities recover and rebuild after conflict and disaster. Together, our actions can transform communities. I hope I can count on you to take one action today: Make your year-end, tax-deductible gift to help families in crisis.

Thank you for your support,

Whitney Elmer
