Help Us Light the Truth on Capitol Hill

On December 31, 1932, as Hitler was rising to power, Rabbi Akiva Posner lit his Hanukkah menorah in the window of his Kiel home in Germany. He was greeted, for the first time, by a flag carrying the Nazi insignia, directly across the street from his home. His wife, Rachel snapped an iconic photo of the glowing menorah with the Nazi flag in the foreground, as she proclaimed, “The Jewish people will live forever. The light answers.”

Akiva and Rachel Posner were among the fortunate ones. They and their three children were wise enough to leave for pre-state Palestine before the Anschluss, convincing the 600 members of their community to join them.

We, at EMET, look towards such resolute and courageous role models such as the Posners to inspire us every day, as we walk through the halls of Congress.

Whether we work to sanction the International Criminal Court for its biased treatment of Israel, to eradicate UNRWA with its strong ties to and defense of Hamas, to ensure no more funding goes to incentivize Palestinian terrorism against Jews, to pass the Antisemitism Awareness Act, or to educate about Hyatt Tahir al Sham (HTS) and its treatment of the Syrian Kurdish and Christian minority groups, EMET is on Capitol Hill almost every single day, educating our policymakers.

Every week, we write and publish articles and have webinars with our “brain trust” of experts who help to inform the community-at-large about the latest events in the rapidly shifting sands of the Middle East.

But we cannot do this without your support. We depend on every single one of you to help us in our mission to support the state of Israel and the Jewish people.

Please help us to inspire our policymakers towards empathy of what the Jewish people and the state of Israel are up against. As you prepare to light your menorahs, please remember EMET, and help us to support the truth about Israel and the Jewish people.

Thank you very much.

Warmest Wishes for a Happy Hanukkah and a Merry Christmas,

Sarah Stern
