Hello Friend,

Some people spend December winding down for the Holidays. But at AGREE, we’ve spent it amping up.

Take last week, where as part of the Renewable Heat Now campaign, we helped organize a massive, statewide Week of Action for the NY HEAT Act.

Alongside local allies, we led a press conference in Syracuse with great turnout. As some of you let us know afterwards, the media coverage included our executive director Jessica Azulay talking NY HEAT on TV!

That’s what you did see. But this year, we’re raising money to support all the vital work you didn’t see on TV.

For example, our work intervening in rate cases, which requires diving into complex, highly technical regulatory and legal processes in order to best defend New Yorkers from unfair bills, and fight for a faster, more affordable, and more effective transition to a green economy.

As you may know, Governor Hochul recently vetoed a bill that would have funded more rate case intervenors, who do work like ours. So now, we're raising funds to ensure our current experts can do even more. Traveling to more hearings statewide, spending more time behind the scenes, and maybe even hiring further support.

And at the same time, we're redoubling our efforts to pass NY HEAT and cap all energy bills at no more than 6% of your household income. So we will work to bring even more people into our grassroots organizing. Which means more of not just what you saw on camera, but of what happened right before it: an excellent lobby meeting with our Assemblymember!

We're so close to our year end funding goal, but we're not quite there yet. With 2025 shaping up to be one of the most intense years for climate and energy politics yet, we want to make sure we can head into it with the strongest roots we can. Every dollar will help us keep on working towards the Green Economy New York deserves.
