Folks,
I wanted to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a merry, safe, and joyful season — from my family to yours.
This season is a wonderful time to reflect on what matters most: family, community, and the shared moments that bring us all together. I’m especially grateful for the chance to work on building a better future for New Jersey and for the incredible support of this grassroots team.
Making Alton Brown’s classic eggnog recipe has become a beloved tradition in our home, and it’s one of my absolute favorites. Whether you still need something to bring to your holiday gathering or just love trying something new, I think you’ll enjoy it — and I hope it becomes a tradition in your home, too!

Mikie's Favorite Eggnog (c/o Alton Brown)
Ingredients:
4 egg yolks
1/3 cups sugar, plus 1 tablespoon
1 pint whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
3 ounces bourbon
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
4 egg whites
Directions:
1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved. Add the milk, cream, bourbon, and nutmeg and stir to combine.
2. Place the egg whites in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
3. Whisk the egg whites into the mixture. Chill and serve.
