This time of year, I try a little harder to stay in touch with the people who matter to me. I try to send a note or make time for a call with friends, family, the people I rely on in my work, and in this movement. It helps keep us connected, and it’s a reminder of the strong support system around me.
That's what this message is. It's a chance to stay connected, to remind you of how much you mean to Planned Parenthood, and to thank you for all you do.
You know what we've been through together over the last couple of years: Attacks on our rights, whole communities cut off from care, and patients forced to travel to access essential health care.
I hope you also know that your support and advocacy have helped Planned Parenthood health centers continue to welcome patients from all across the country.
You know the threats we face: Lawmakers who are hostile to reproductive health care, courts that rule to take away our freedom, and an entire movement founded and funded to control our bodies, our lives, and our futures.
I hope you also know how much we are counting on your continued strength and solidarity to go up against every attack on reproductive health and rights.
I say this all the time, and it's never been more true: Supporters like you are the heart and soul of this movement. Your commitment builds our power. Your compassion strengthens our resolve. Your unyielding support has shown time and again that when we stand together, we are a force to be reckoned with.
It seems like every day brings a new crisis, and it's easy to get caught up in the urgent fights in front of us. But I want to take a moment, right now, just to say thank you for being a crucial part of Planned Parenthood.
Best wishes to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Alexis McGill Johnson, President & CEO
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
