It’s not Christmas-as-usual this year with all that is going on around the world. And it’s got me thinking about how this moment is demanding that we have to disrupt business-as-usual and do something different if we want a different future.
Whatever sacred and spiritual rituals you are observing this time of year, may you slow down and make space for peace. Not the kind of peace that is comfortable or familiar. But a peace that demands we wake up to the suffering that is all around us and demand nothing less than peace and wellbeing for all people.
That means we may need to deck the halls with truth telling and brave conversations around the dinner table. It means may mean we need to disrupt the comfort and complicity of our loved ones. It means we may need to reimagine our holiday rituals to include grief and collective action.
Whatever it looks like, may we never give up on each other and the possibility for true peace and liberation for all. ☮️ 🙏
