Dear John,

For decades, the Iranian regime could spread its propaganda without resistance, and most of the population would fall in line.

But last year, something remarkable happened.

After the attacks of October 7, the regime tried to stir up anti-Israel sentiment… but this time, young people didn’t buy it. They didn’t show up for the state-sponsored demonstrations.

This forced the desperate, state-run newspapers to use pictures of demonstrators from Istanbul and Paris—showing Hamas sympathizers from other countries, because they lacked them in Iran!

The truth is, Iran’s newest generation is rejecting the lies and violence that have plagued this region for decades.

…and I’m proud to be a part of the movement that has brought this positive change.

My name is Mohamad Machine-Chian, and Iran was my home until three years ago, when my visible role within Iran’s bottom-up liberty movement made it unsafe to stay.

Our movement in Iran is a growing network of individuals committed to a vision of peace, prosperity, and freedom in the Middle East. We’re capturing hearts and minds, and convincing young Iranians to dream of a brighter future.

Our ideas are winning.

But there’s much more to do. Within Iran, and across the broader region.

This is why I’m thrilled to reach out today on behalf of Atlas Network, which greatly supported the efforts of liberty-minded dissidents like me in Iran for many years. Atlas Network is a U.S. based non-profit with global reach. It takes no government money and relies entirely on private philanthropy to help principled friends of freedom make a difference in their countries.

We rely on Atlas Network.

Atlas Network has greatly supported us with grants and training and in-kind help in Iran, and of course it has done much more in other parts of our region.

Indeed, over the past month, Atlas Network held training seminars for Middle Eastern and North African partners in Rabat, Morocco. They also awarded a $100,000 prize to a leading free market organization in Lebanon. Today, they’re laying the foundation for the emerging freedom movement in Syria to ensure it develops concurrently with professional think tanks and thought leaders.

The prospects for peace and freedom in the Middle East are growing right before our eyes, and it’s happening because of Atlas Network’s unwavering support.

This Christmas season, I hope you will join us on our journey.

Many of our traditions and cultures were born in the Middle East, and what happens there inevitably impacts the entire world, including our peace and prosperity here at home.

Please support Atlas Network by making your first gift today and join the movement creating a freer, more prosperous Middle East.

Thank you,

Mohamad Machine-Chian

PS: Atlas Network’s year-end giving drive is almost over. Please contribute before the New Year, and a very generous Atlas Network donor will match your gift dollar-for-dollar. With your support, we can continue fostering a freer Middle East. Merry Christmas, and thank you for your generosity!
