separation and deportation. They are forced to defend themselves alone in
immigration court, simply because they cannot afford an attorney.



Immigrants who come to the United States seeking opportunity contribute
greatly to our communities. We must protect them.

Without the help of a lawyer, only one in eight people facing deportation in
immigration court wins their cases. For so many others, losing often means
returning to dangerous and devastating circumstances in their country of
origin. That’s why Vera is building and supporting publicly funded deportation
