The Trump administration is indefinitely extending an asylum ban for everyone – including children – seeking safety in the U.S. Speak out against this appalling violation of U.S. and international law!

Hi John -

This week, the Trump administration announced that it has indefinitely extended a ban on people seeking asylum – including unaccompanied children – in the U.S.

This asylum ban has already harmed vulnerable children fleeing violence in their home countries. In April, border officials detained 766 unaccompanied migrant children. Just 58 were transferred to the U.S. refugee agency to pursue their asylum claims.[1] The rest were returned to Mexico or their home countries to once again live in fear of violence.

Tell your members of Congress and President Trump to protect those seeking asylum, especially children, even during a public health emergency.

Kids like Jesus*, a 10-year-old boy from Honduras, are being harmed when our laws are ignored. Jesus was placed on a deportation flight alone after seeking asylum in the U.S.[2] It took his mother several days to locate him. U.S. law declares that unaccompanied children can’t be placed in this type of “fast track” removal process.

The U.S. cannot turn its back on those seeking protection in our country. We can protect public health while also upholding our obligations to protect vulnerable children. Our government can put screening and protection measures in place to ensure the safety of both those seeking asylum and U.S. border and immigration agents.

Send an urgent message to your members of Congress and President Trump today – the legal rights of children seeking asylum must be protected!

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
