My name is Channing Seideman, and research is my only hope for seizure freedom.

For me, epilepsy isn’t just one thing. It’s the seizures that strike without warning. It’s the adjustments I’ve had to make in every corner of my life, from how I pursue my dreams to how I navigate friendships. It’s also the bond I have with Bishop, my seizure alert dog, who serves as my “aura,” or warning sign, that a seizure is coming on.

Research is also the only thing that can lead to breakthroughs that will improve the lives of 19.5 million people worldwide living with medication-resistant epilepsy. CURE Epilepsy supports innovative early stage research, often before an idea is eligible for government funding—that’s why they give me hope.
