2024 Year in Review

Dear John,

Thanks to you, 2024 has been a year of relentless action and extraordinary victories for marine life.

WATCH: 2024 IN REVIEW

From removing deadly ghost nets and stopping poachers to protecting endangered species, your support powered Sea Shepherd’s crews on the frontlines of marine conservation.

Here’s just a glimpse of what we accomplished together this year:

  • Expanded patrols in the Vaquita Refuge, where all net fishing is banned, driving illegal fishing out of this critical habitat.

  • Launched nighttime missions with thermal drones to bring justice to Totoaba poachers.

  • Returned to Antarctica, intercepting krill factory trawlers stripping the building blocks of the ecosystem.

  • Witnessed over 500 whales slaughtered in the Faroe Islands, pushing us to take this fight further to EU Parliament.

  • Broke records in October, removing two enormous nets in a single day and deflecting a swarm of 80 pangas using exclusively Sea Shepherd hardware.

  • Signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Mexican Navy to strengthen our partnership and expand our ability to protect marine life.

  • These victories—and so many others—were possible because of you.

As we prepare for an unprecedented 2025, your support is more critical than ever. Through December 31, your impact can go three times as far. Every $1 you donate unlocks $2 more, turning it into $3 for the oceans during our $750,000 Matching Gift Challenge.

To those who have already stepped forward to support this and other vital campaigns, thank you. Your generosity powers everything we do to protect vulnerable marine life and habitats. If you’ve already donated, please consider sharing this Matching Gift Challenge with your friends and family. Your voice could inspire others to join our mission and help us meet our goal by December 31.

As we gather with loved ones and reflect on the year, let’s remember the incredible difference we’ve made together—and the lives we’re still fighting to save. These animals can’t free themselves—and they can’t wait. Watch the video to see the crew in action and join us in giving sea lions at Consag Rock a fighting chance.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season. Together, we can continue to protect marine life and our oceans for generations to come.

With gratitude and warm holiday wishes,

The Captains, Crews, and Staff
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
