John,

Together we can save a wild mountain wilderness so unique it holds nearly half of Argentina’s entire biodiversity – a spectacular place where giant anteaters lumber through misty forests and rare eagles soar above hidden valleys.

Loggers and ranchers are sharpening their chainsaws and plotting to bulldoze the Yungas forest. Their plan? Turn this breathtaking wilderness into pastureland, erasing decades of ecological complexity in the blink of an eye. But right now, we have a chance to stop them – for good.

Working with our partner Rainforest Trust, we can help buy and protect forever nearly 12,000 acres of this place – immediately ending a logging license, and blocking the re-opening of an old access road that would tear open the whole area. AND we can keep up Ekō’s campaigns to protect wild places like this everywhere from corporate exploitation.

Can you help these wild creatures keep their home?

The Yungas is critical for biodiversity in South America. The area is a sanctuary for vulnerable Giant Anteaters, a refuge for Azaras's Capuchin monkeys, and a last stronghold for endemic frogs that exist nowhere else on Earth.

But only 8% of the area is currently protected. Agriculture and logging are eating away at this wilderness. And a critical gap has been identified – a ‘land bridge’ between two existing parks that would create an unbroken path spanning 229,538 acres for wildlife to live and travel safely. These 11,900 acres are especially well preserved due to inaccessibility – they’re only reachable by boat.

But with an old road set to re-open and a timber concession granted, time is running out. That’s why Rainforest Trust and local partners Fundación Rewilding Argentina are working to buy the land and in the process shut down these plans to exploit the Yungas and threaten its irreplaceable wildlife.

We can help save this entire ecosystem from destruction. And fuel Ekō’s own campaigns to protect ecosystems around the world from exploitation. Can you help?
